JCU Board Member Helps Decrease Crime

JCU Board Member, LaMar Beckstead, and fellow Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), have been credited with helping decrease the crime rate. According to an article in the Sandy Journal, Sandy Police Chief, Stephen Chapman, credited the "overall drop in numbers to the combined effort of the Sandy Police Department, the Volunteers in Police Service and residents. The Sandy PD reported that its volunteers contributed over 14,000 hours and saved the city more than $194,000 in 2011."*

We thank LaMar Beckstead, the Volunteers in Police Service, and the Sandy Police Department for their efforts to keep the crime rate down. Thanks for all you do!
